Summer Nights at the Daum presents: StoneLion Puppet Theatre’s “The Wind in the Willows”

August 24, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Daum at Night

As part of Summer Nights at the Daum, Daum Museum of Contemporary Art presents StoneLion Puppet Theatre’s The Wind in the Willows, a fast-paced musical based on the classic tale by Kenneth Grahame. Using bunraku puppets and interactive fun, the theater troupe offers an all-age production concerning the adventures of Mr. Toad and his daring obsession with driving automobiles. Mr. Toad is accompanied by his friends Mole, Rat, and Badger, who try to keep him out of trouble, with only limited success. Curtain time is 6 p.m., on Thursday, August 24, 2017, in the Stauffacher Theatre on the campus of State Fair Community College.

Since 1992, StoneLion Puppet Theatre has been dedicated to expanding the horizons of the young and young-at-heart through the art of puppetry. StoneLion tours throughout the Midwest and beyond from their base in Kansas City. Their shows are fresh, original, and educational, and the company has received backing from the Smithsonian Institute, Missouri Arts Council, and Kansas City Young Audiences.

This production is the fourth of four special events assembled under the heading Summer Nights at the Daum. The museum has hosted events and extended hours on the fourth Thursday of May through August. Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; events begin at 6 p.m., and are free to the public.
