Pioneering Bay Area ceramic artists’ Peter Voulkos, Robert Arneson, Paul Soldner and Ron Nagel greatly contributed to ceramics being recognized as an important American medium. This exhibition focuses on four mid-career Bay Area artists who have established themselves as the ‘successors’ to the dynamic forces set forth by this first generation of California ceramicists. Each of these artists, through the development of their own unique voice exerts a very important influence on ceramics in America today.
