Dialogues with Mother Earth: Drawing to Save the Planet is an installation by artist Erica Daborn that provokes reflections on the relationship between 21st century societal values and the ways in which they have contributed to the degradation of our environment. The primary elements in this project are ten mural-sized narrative drawings in charcoal that captivate the imagination of the audience and provide entry points where scientific facts alone fail. The monumental drawings place the viewer into the future, looking back at quasi-fictitious disasters that we did not prevent. Viewers are challenged to examine the deeper causes of the climate crisis, as the murals explore, in an allegorical, story-book manner, those aspects of contemporary living that have impacted the environment.

Acclaimed international artist Erica Daborn (b. 1951) was born in England, where she received an MFA degree from the Royal College of Art, London. Daborn has exhibited her work throughout Europe, the US, and Mexico, including Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Institute of Contemporary Art, London; and Museo de la Ciudad de Querétaro, Mexico.
