James Surls is nationally recognized for his poetic, anthromorphic, sculptures and prints. The artist’s public commissions include Family, (collaboration with Charmaine Locke), Mariposa Park, Corpus Christi, TX; There Used to be a Lake, (collaboration with poet Robert Creely), Citicorp Plaza, Los Angeles and many others.
