Daum Escape 2022
Daum Escape, the museum’s fall outreach program, offers a museum experience to elementary and secondary students. This educational program began in 2004 and exposes students to contemporary art and provides teachers with information to assist them in incorporating arts education into their curricula. Thousands of students and teachers have participated in Daum Escape. Coalescence: Exploring Contemporary Ceramics and Artist Communities
Coalescence is a joining of artists and art organizations. Artaxis is a network of contemporary artists that engage the ceramics community through promotion, education, and networking. Josh Novak of Longwell Museum and Artaxis board members created an invitational in 2022 as a celebration of diverse ceramic practices. Threads That Bind: Elucidating Diverse Voices of Womanhood
Threads That Bind offers a new lens into the complex visual history of Women’s Work. This exhibition looks at the idea of place from a variety of perspectives and approaches to making. Utilizing both representational and conceptual approaches, a wide range of manifestations of place serve to show us what is familiar and quite different from our own piece of the world. These works are meant to serve as a window to the larger environment and raise our awareness of the experience we have in our everyday surroundings.
