Daum Escape 2022

Daum Escape, the museum’s fall outreach program, offers a museum experience to elementary and secondary students. This educational program began in 2004 and exposes students to contemporary art and provides teachers with information to assist them in incorporating arts education into their curricula. Thousands of students and teachers have participated in Daum Escape. During Daum Escape, busloads of students and teachers are welcomed by docents who take small groups on tours of the current exhibitions. Coalescence: Exploring Contemporary Ceramics and Artist Communities

Coalescence is a joining of artists and art organizations. Artaxis is a network of contemporary artists that engage the ceramics community through promotion, education, and networking. Josh Novak of Longwell Museum and Artaxis board members created an invitational in 2022 as a celebration of diverse ceramic practices. Threads That Bind offers a new lens into the complex visual history of Women’s Work. Daum Museum Closed for Spring Break

The Daum Museum will be closed for State Fair Community College's spring break March 20-24, 2023. The museum will be open both the weekends before and after with normal hours of 1-5 p.m.

Synthesis brings together artists from across the region who are actively participating in local artist communities. Museum closed for Fourth of July

This exhibition looks at the idea of place from a variety of perspectives and approaches to making. Utilizing both representational and conceptual approaches, a wide range of manifestations of place serve to show us what is familiar and quite different from our own piece of the world. These works are meant to serve as a window to the larger environment and raise our awareness of the experience we have in our everyday surroundings.
